The Harvest route in the Douro Valley

The end of September is the perfect time to visit the Douro Valley in the North of Portugal, as they start harvesting the crops for the world famous Port wine. By visiting the traditional Port houses, you can help the farmers pick the grapes off the vines, stomp the grapes into juices and contribute to that year’s production of the Port wines. Combine your harvest trip in the Douro Valley with a road trip to Porto and experience the most out of your time. | Read more about the Harvest route in the Douro Valley.

The Ring of Kerry in Ireland

The Ring of Kerry around the Iveragh peninsula in Ireland is perhaps one of the most beautiful routes in the country. Starting and ending in the red, yellow, and orange Killarney National Park, you’ll pass to the beaches and the mountains in the region. Continue your route via Sneem and its ancient fort at Staigue, towards the finer restaurants in the village Kenmare. Before heading back towards Killarney National Park, make sure to take in some of the spectacular views from Moll’s Gap. It’s suggested to make the 178 KM road trip in 2 - 5 days, as occasional rainfall makes it worth to spend an extra night in a cozy traditional Irish guesthouse. | Read more about The Ring of Kerry in Ireland.

The Autumn ‘Hygge’ in Copenhagen

According to our local writer from Copenhagen, Karina Kold, “hygge” can be explained as coziness and being good to yourself and others in a very relaxed, open-hearted, warm and fun way. And this is exactly what you’ll experience in Copenhagen in the autumn. The many green parks in the city change into their fall foliage giving the city an orange, yellow, and red glow. Combine your park walks with some of the many trendy hotspots in Copenhagen. After an occasional rain shower, turn inside for a warm cup of Pumpkin Spice Latte under a cozy blanket.

Fall in (love with) Paris

The summer in Paris can be crowded and touristy, but when the autumn months arrive and the locals come back from their holidays, Paris is a real treat. For an even more relaxed experience in the city, head over to the Left Bank of the Seine. Enjoy a day in Saint-Germain walking the banks of the Seine, capturing the calming vibes in the Jardin du Luxembourg, and strolling the narrow streets full of boutiques. If you have some time to spare, visit the old bookstores in the neighborhood and sit outside at the terraces of the corner cafés like a true Parisian.

The autumn route in Andalucia

As the summer months are usually way too hot to enjoy the Andalucian cities and you’re recommended to find yourself a cooler breeze on the seaside. The fall months are perfect for visiting the beautiful Andalucian cities of Seville, Granada, Cordoba, or Malaga. Explore the cities in the far south of Spain with a glass of Sherry and a platter full of hams. Another great thing is to explore the lesser-known places in the region, like the olive harvest in the cooler days of October somewhere between Cordoba and Jaén, or some spectacular hiking south of Granada in Sierre Nevada. | Read more about the Andalucia route.
