Ushuaia - the southernmost city in the world
Ok, you probably won't consider a city trip to Ushuaia like you would do to Paris, Buenos Aires or New York. Ushuaia? Say what? Ushuaia is the self-proclaimed southernmost city in the world in the very south of Argentina on the great island of Tierra del Fuego. Some people consider Ushuaia too far away. But those that make the effort will be rewarded with its beautiful setting at the foothills of the Andes mountains with the magical Beagle Channel at its feet and spectacular rough nature surrounding the city. Antarctica is only 1,000 kilometers away. Ushuaia is a year-round destination. Most people visit in spring or summer, either on a Patagonia trip or hopping on a ship to Antarctica, for which Ushuaia is a necessary stop-over. Others come to ski or snowboard the slopes of Cerro Castor or ride with the sled dogs in winter time. The weather can be rough here, but let's consider that part of the charm. Welcome to the end of the world!
