During the winter holiday season, it houses three main traditional Christmas markets all within walking distance of the vicinity. You’ve got plenty to choose from, but one market should catch your attention, Berliner Weinachtzeit. It is one of the oldest Christmas Markets in the city, with stalls designed in 1900s style, and the many craft stands filled with unique products and the seasonal favorite- mulled wine. It is a great place for families, as there is a free ice-rink, a Santa Claus Meet & Greet, and a small petting zoo. You won’t be able to miss it because of the gigantic, colorful Ferris wheel that towers over the market, right in front of the Berlin Town Hall (Roten Rathaus).

Stepping away from the German traditional Christmas Market, just steps away from Alexanderplatz on Alexander Strasser, is the Wintertraum am Alexa. A modern rendition of Christmas that will give you the ultimate adrenaline rush, the amusement park rides will rush you into an exciting turn of events. You’ll be entertained for hours by the daredevil roller coasters, tower of terror and spinning rides, and the Ferris wheels. The great thing about this ‘market’ is that there’s something for every age! Small children can ride the kiddies rides, teenagers can scream their hearts out with topsy-turvy rollercoasters, and the adults can sip on some mulled wine.
